Introducing the Policies feature, your command center for shaping the key policies that govern your website. We understand that clear communication around privacy and data handling is crucial for building strong customer relationships. 

With our revamped Policies interface, you gain complete control over your site's privacy and cookie policies, ensuring they are not only compliant with regulations but also transparent and easily accessible to your users.

Our intuitive tools make it simple to customize, preview, and implement various policy settings. This comprehensive guide will walk you through every aspect of the Policies interface, providing clear explanations and insights to help you leverage this powerful feature. 

By taking full advantage of Policies, you can foster user trust, enhance your website's transparency, and ensure optimal management of your online presence.

Navigate to the Policies Section

To get started with Policies, simply log in to your Secure Privacy account and navigate to the Policies section within your dashboard. You will find two default policies already created for you: Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, both customized with your business name. 

In the current release of the Policies feature, you have the power to manage and modify these two essential policies, ensuring your website remains transparent and compliant.

These policies are automatically enabled upon account creation, providing a strong foundation for your privacy practices.

How to Find Your Policy Settings

The Policies section of your dashboard gives you full control over the policies displayed on your website.



Here's what you can do:

Enable/Disable Policies:

  • Use the toggle switches to easily activate or deactivate each policy on your website.

Policy Settings:

  • Click on the policy name or the three-dot icon next to it, then click "Edit" to access the policy's settings.

  • From here, you can:

    • Edit the policy title.

    • Assign the policy to specific domains within your account.

    • Generate or link an existing policy.

Generate Policy:

  • Link to an Existing Policy:

    • If you already have a policy on your website, simply provide the full page URL.

  • Generate a New Policy:

    • Use our four-step wizard to create a new policy tailored to your needs.

    • Secure Privacy will guide you through providing the following details:

      • Relevant laws your policy adheres to.

      • Your entity type (business or individual).

      • Data Protection Officer (DPO) information (if applicable).

      • Contact information for users regarding the policy.

      • Details about third-party service providers (e.g., payment processors, analytics tools, advertising partners, social plugins, backup services).

      • Information about security measures and data collection practices.

Edit

After generating your policy, you can easily fine-tune its content using the Edit menu. Our block-based editor gives you the flexibility to format your policy exactly the way you want.

Important: When editing, pay close attention to any text within square brackets, such as [sp-…]. These placeholders need to be replaced with your specific business information (website address, DPO emails, etc.). Make sure to update all relevant blocks to ensure your policy accurately reflects your business.

If your website caters to a multilingual audience, you can effortlessly translate your policy using the dropdown menu in the top right corner of the screen. Select your desired language and the policy wording will be automatically adjusted.
